Alex and I are also going to start sending each other letters, which I'm excited for. He offered to teach me some Swedish, so I better brush up on my Norwegian so I can at least guess what it says, haha! I haven't updated since I haven't done much yet. I've been writing a bit and updating a few stories that I have online and taking little writing requests from my tumblr followers, but nothing substansial.
I scanned some art yesterday though! This was my favorite, so I colored it in a bit on my computer. ^^

I like how he has the same name as me, and he is from Sweden, which is pretty cool too :] I find it odd hoe Swedish and Norwegian are so similar that they are almost somewhat mutually intelligible. At Akseli's house, the shampoo bottles were written in Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish and the Norwegian and Swedish texts were almost identical. Its like they are two twins, and then there is the other brother of Finland that shares 0% of the same root words with any other Scandinavian language. Its also odd that I have heard of more loan words coming from English than Swedish.
ReplyDeleteDanish is almost just as similar. It's because they were united for so long, and after Norway broke away from Denmark it stayed under Swedish influence for a long time. Icelandic is like... A more complicated version of Norwegian with extra sounds, to make it really difficult to say haha!
ReplyDeleteAlex is the name he goes by, but his birth name is Tove. :>
Icelandic looks WAYY cooler when written though. Hehe, Tove. I like Finnish names way better, like Aleksanteri, Anneli, Marjana, and Tuulikki.
ReplyDeleteLanguage is so intriguing like that! I am constantly amazed at how much the two of you know about different languages and cultures. Next year we should really keep up the MMM meetings so we can dive deeper into our zaney discussions about the world we live in.
ReplyDeleteCheyenne, your drawing is fantastic... funny thing; I have seen you make that facial expression before. Does that sound odd? What does the text say? What are your stories about?
We /have/ to keep the MMM meetings, I don't think there's an option about that! A full year of them would really be interesting to experience!
ReplyDeleteThank-you! Actually--- I know since you draw, you might do this too, but when you're drawing a person do you make the expression of the person in the picture? Since I draw a lot more now, I'm actually really accustomed to making the faces of the people in the pictures, so I'm not surprised if I get that dazed sort of look from time to time.
The text of above says Lee Soobin, who is my favorite character from What's Up! The Korean drama. I positively love his actor, and I actually draw Lee Soohyuk (the actor) a lot!
Hm, I did two requests so far, and most people asked for stories about kpop idols, and so I wrote a story about Christmas in the B1A4 focused around Baro and Sandeul. And then I wrote a story about Jaehyo and Zico from Block B sort of bickering at each other all the time to show their affection? Just little things. (*´▽`*)
